Cudlitz andMcKenzie are joined by cast members Regina King (Ray, Jerry Maguire) whoplays Detective Lydia Adams. Adams lives with and is the primarycaregiver of her mother. Her partner, Detective Russell Clarke (TomEverett Scott, Boiler Room) is an unhappily married father of three.Michael McGrady (The Thin Red Line) plays Detective Daniel SalSalinger. Sal oversees fellow gang detectives Nate Moretta (KevinAlejandro, Drive, Ugly Betty) and Sammy Bryant (Shawn Hatosy, AlphaDog). Eppisode 1: Phase Three

DetectiveLydia Adams has to adjust to life with a new partner, Rene Cordero(Amaury Nolasco), as they investigate the kidnapping of an elderly man,while Detective Russell Clarke is hospitalized. Chickie Brown ends up ina mini-riot when her new partner, Officer Slug Ferguson, accidentallyshoots at an unarmed joyriding suspect.

Eppisode 2: Butch and Sundance

Johnand Ben are the first responders to a triple homicide in Hancock Park,where a mother is bludgeoned to death and her daughters are found bound,gagged, raped and dead. A reluctant Det. Salinger allows Sammy and Nateto join an operation to take down a drug kingpin.

Eppisode 3: U-Boat

OfficerCooper offers to go on patrol with Officer Chickie Brown, where hetells her that she is no longer a good cop due to her lack of commandpresence. Ben winds up in a patrol unit alone for the first time. Amongthe cases he has to handle on his own are a missing girl and a stalkingcase.

Eppisode 4: The Runner

Lydia and her newpartner, Ray Suarez (Clifton Collins, Jr.), arrive in South L.A., where ayoung SULA student/track star was murdered. Suspicion is placed on aSULA football star. Ben and John visit Dewey in rehab and attend aformer police officers funeral in Indian Wells.

Eppisode 5: What Makes Sammy Run

Twogangbangers are killed when gangsters open fire in a crowded night cluband the shootings are connected to Morettas daughter. Tensions risebetween Det. Salinger and Det. Puente (Laz Alonso) on the gang taskforce. Marital problems are exacerbated when Sammy Bryant learns Tammihas been photographing gang members as he tries to prevent a young boyfrom destroying his life by joining a gang.

Eppisode 6: Maximum Deployment

OfficersCooper, Sherman and Brown are dispatched as part of a maximumdeployment to catch a rapist who is impersonating a police officer. Det.Clarke returns as Lydias partner to investigate a double homicide.Det. Salingers wife, Captain Susan Salinger (Denise Crosby), learns ofhis affair with television reporter Mia Sanchez (Lisa Vidal) through hisdaughter.
